I really like everything about this ad. It really works to put a picture in the minds of its target audience. It’s visually interesting. The music is upbeat and the voiceover is confident, yet friendly and helpful. At the end of the day, we do not go to school for the sake of it…or for the sake on learning, in and of itself. We go to learn things so that we can than go to work and get paid for doing the things that we learned for our employer – or for ourselves as entrepreneurs. I’m also relived that the school’s lawyers and purists didn’t force them to muddy up the message with disclaimers and other small print “past performance does not guarantee future results. we don’t promise you’ll get a job with any of these companies. we don’t really drive trains.” etc. Although, I would not be surprised if future versions of this ad eventually do. After all, CYA in business marketing doesn’t mean Creativity You Actually Enjoy.
Well done Phoenix. Just don’t fly too close to the sun.
